NATIONAL PHASE OF CONTEST
Incubator of Surveys and Experiments
For Students of Secondary Education, High School and Training Cycles
In recent years, various regional competitions have been launched in different parts of Spain with similar characteristics and which could be grouped under the label of “Incubator of Surveys and Experiments”. These competitions are aimed at students of compulsory secondary education, high school and training cycles, who participate by presenting a statistical work. The main objective of these initiatives is to awaken in students the curiosity for statistics as a fundamental tool in research, both in experimental sciences and in social sciences. The SEIO has been aware of the different local phases of the “Incubator of Surveys and Experiments” competitions since its inception and considers the high number of students participating in them very positively.
The Society for Statistics and Operations Research (SEIO) is aware of the importance that these disciplines have today as academic training subjects and tools for decision-making in public, private and business environments, as well as the importance they have learning these subjects in non-university education.
The SEIO coordinator of the Contest Incubator of Surveys and Experiments is Prof. María Jesús García-Ligero (University of Granada).

Andalucía, Ceuta and Melilla
Contest of the South “Incubator of Soundings and Experiments”. Summons the Department of Statistics and Operations Research of the University of Granada.
Principado de Asturias
Asturian phase of the contest “Incubator for Surveys and Experiments”. Summons the Department of Statistics and Operational and Didactic Research of Mathematics of the Oviedo University.
Cantabria
School Contest of Statistical Works. Summons the Cantabrian Institute of Statistics in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
Castilla y León
Local phase of Castilla y León of the incubator-type contests of surveys and experiments. She convenes the Ministry of Finance of the Junta de Castilla y León and the Department of Statistics and Operations Research of the University of Valladolid collaborates in the organization.
Extremadura
Contest “Have fun with Statistics”. Summons the Department of Mathematics of the University of Extremadura.
La Rioja
Incubator Contest of Surveys and Experiments. Organized by the Riojan Society of Mathematics Teachers “A-prima”.
Región de Murcia
The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and the Department of Statistics and Operations Research of the University of Murcia organize the “First data” contest First Statistics contest of the Region of Murcia.
Comunitat Valenciana
The Departamento de Estadística, Matemáticas e Informática of Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH), the Departamento de Estadística e Investigación Operativa Aplicadas y Calidad of Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Departamento de Estadística e Investigación Operativa of Universitat de València (UV), organise the contest Va de dades! Concurs valencià d’Estadística per a la Ciència de Dades for works in Statistics developed by students of ESO, Bachillerato and Ciclos Formativos.
