European Statistics Competition (ESC)
The European Statistics Competition (ESC) is an initiative jointly promoted by the European statistical office, Eurostat, and the statistical institutes of various European countries.
Phases
The ESC consists of two phases: a national and a European one. In Spain, the national phase is convened by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the Faculty of Statistical Studies (FEE) of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Society of Statistics and Operations Research (SEIO), for students of Compulsory Secondary Education , Basic Vocational Training, Baccalaureate and Middle Grade Training Cycles.
The winning teams in the national phase have a prize. In addition, teams that pass the national phase may be candidates to participate in the European phase of the ESC.

Encourage the use of new materials for teaching Statistics.

Show the protagonism of Statistics to students and teachers.
