European Statistics Competition (ESC)

The European Statistics Competition (ESC) is an initiative jointly promoted by the European statistical office, Eurostat, and the statistical institutes of various European countries.

Phases

The ESC consists of two phases: a national and a European one. In Spain, the national phase is convened by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the Faculty of Statistical Studies (FEE) of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Society of Statistics and Operations Research (SEIO), for students of Compulsory Secondary Education , Basic Vocational Training, Baccalaureate and Middle Grade Training Cycles.

The winning teams in the national phase have a prize. In addition, teams that pass the national phase may be candidates to participate in the European phase of the ESC.

Show the protagonism of Statistics to students and teachers.

Inscription

To participate in the ESC it will be necessary to register using the registration form. Registration will be made by the teacher / tutor of the group and must include the requested information. Participants may raise their questions via email oliestad@ucm.es. The website of the national phase will also contain all relevant information on the progress of the ESC.
