Research Fellow in Epidemiology / Statistics at UCL
martes, 02 marzo 2021

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic researcher to work on a set of complementary projects investigating the burden of obesity on ageing outcomes (e.g. physical capability) and how this changes across generations. These projects also aim to identify whether health behaviours such as physical activity, modify the observed relationships. The post provides an exciting opportunity for a researcher who wants to apply and develop their analytic, interpretation and other research skills, while working on topics of major relevance for public health policy.

The post-holder will primarily work on secondary data from the British birth cohort studies, carrying out longitudinal data analysis, management and cleaning, and preparation of research papers for publication.

This position, funded by the Medical Research Council, is available immediately and is funded for 24 months in the first instance.

Key Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in a relevant discipline, such as epidemiology or applied medical statistics, and a background in data handling and quantitative analysis of large and complex longitudinal datasets. Knowledge of some or all of the following would be advantageous: life course epidemiology, healthy ageing, obesity and health behaviours and the UK birth cohort studies.
