Two PhD studentships will be available in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Trinity College Dublin, commencing in October 2010, for four years each.
The research will focus on Bayesian methodology for classes of problems in signal processing. In particular, it is envisaged that one of the research projects will focus on deterministic distributional approximations for problems of synchronization in mobile communications. The other will be concerned with the development of Bayesian nonparametric techniques for certain inverse problems in signal processing.
The studentships will provide a generous stipend in each of the four years, plus all academic fees, and funding for travel and the purchase of computer supports. The funding is provided by Science Foundation Ireland.
For more details about these opportunities, please contact Anthony Quinn at the email above. He can also be tracked down to V9 next week.
I have a number of PhD studentships available. Please see http://www.mee.tcd.ie/~aquinn/PhDadvert2009.pdf for some information, or email me.
