A full-time, tenure track, open rank position in the Biostatistics core of the Connecticut Institute of Clinical and Translational Science (CICATS)
The Department of Statistics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) invites nominations and applications for one full time, tenure-track, open rank position in the Biostatistics core of the Connecticut Institute of Clinical and Translational Science (CICATS). This biostatistician faculty member will have an appointment within the Department of Statistics at the UConn Storrs Campus, but will have major responsibility for the CICATS Biostatistics core that will facilitate the proposed growth of Clinical and Translational Science across the CICATS Consortium. In addition to one’s own original research and research collaborations, s/he will be part of the Research Design, Epidemiology and Biostatistics core. CICATS investigators will include trainees and both junior and senior faculty members from multiple disciplines. The faculty, in collaboration with a team of biostatisticians, epidemiologists and master’s level staff, will provide guidance to transdisciplinary teams for the development of research studies. S/he will also be responsible for biostatistical teaching in the new Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research. Incumbent may be required to work at the University of Connecticut's main campus located in Storrs and the campuses at Hartford, West Hartford, and UCHC. The candidate must hold a doctorate in biostatistics or a closely related discipline and demonstrate success in self-initiated research, published scholarship, and collaboration with clinical and/or basic scientists. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable. The preferred candidate will demonstrate the ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also preferred. Salary and rank are dependent upon experience and qualifications.
