Commission for Women in Statistics and Operational Research |
The Commission for Women in Statistics and Operations Research (CMEIO) was established in February 2010 when the Executive Council of the SEIO considered it appropriate to create such a commission as a means of carrying out a diagnosis of the situation of women in the fields of Statistics and Operations Research.
The objectives of the Commission are principally focused on two contexts. On the one hand, the analysis of the present situation of girls in secondary education and, on the other, an investigation of the conditions of female mathematicians in Spanish universities, particularly those working in the fields of Statistics and Operations Research.
Since its inception, the CMEIO has been strongly linked with the Women and Mathematics Commission of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME) .
