New Centralized Resource Allocation DEA Models under Constant Returns to Scale

  • Abstract
    In a large number of organizations the figure of a centralized decision maker who supervises all of the operating units exists. In this environment the operating units have semi-autonomous operations but central direction. Therefore, it seems necessary to develop approaches that allow both the central and local managers to receive appropriate consideration at the same time. Recently a new centralized DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model was introduced by Lozano and Villa (2004) that focuses on this issue. In this paper we study the constant returns to scale (CRS) centralized DEA model and propose new versions which are more managerially oriented.
