  • Abstract
In this article we remind some magic tricks that rely on a misunderstanding of probabilistic ans statistical concepts at the same time that we provide references (mathematical papers as well as legerdemain books) in order to introduce the reader in these subjects. We also point out some remarkable facts (regarded as theorems in mathematics and principles in magic) whose use is widely extended. In that sense we comment properties and tricks on shuffles, faro shuffles, Kruskal count and Gilbreath’s principle.
