  • Abstract
To make decision is something that man has had to cope with since the beginning of humanity. Therefore, we can venture to say that the practice of the decision is as old as man, but adding a peculiar characteristic, and is that the plurality of criteria in conflict among themselves was still the most frequent by then.
Even though it is difficult to pinpoint when the formal study of decision making began, it is possible to determine its historical development through the centuries. How it has been avoiding different periods of boom, of war, of agreements, fights, etc. among different Nations?
The huge number of contributions it has received in his evolution have demanded the Theory of Decision its consolidation as a scientific discipline and with increasingly evidences based on mathematically. The emergence of different methodologies, software and tools that have enabled its application to real problems, envision that Mathematics is always behind them.
Therefore, in this paper we will present the most important evidences of the Decision, especially of the Multicriteria Decision, in periods of conflict, putting old emphasis in the most outstanding figures and in the mathematical tools used.
